"The giant who had no heart in his body"

What could cause a creature as fearsome as a giant to remove his heart from his own body?  What happens to him once he does?  And what becomes of the exiled, imprisoned Heart?

These questions inspire Impossible Salt’s beautiful and haunting exploration of the classic folk tale “The Giant Who Had No Heart in His Body,” found in cultures all over the world and popularly told in both Jim Henson’s The Storyteller and in Lisa Lunge-Larsen and Betsy Bowen’s book of Norwegian tales, The Troll with No Heart in His Body.
